Here are a few of my abstract expressionist paintings. Some are watercolor paintings, and some are acrylic. (But whenever I used acrylic paint, I thinned it down to watercolor consistency, so those might as well be watercolors, too.) As loose as these seem compared with my usual work, all of my abstracts contain carefully placed color details and compositional devices inspired by artists such as Willem de Kooning and Paul Cezanne. It’s been a few years since I’ve painted in this style, but I thought viewers might be interested to see this other side of my work.
